The Last Village of India “Mana”

Mana ‘The Last Village of India’ as it is on India and Tibet border in Chamoli district. Surrounded by Himalayan Hills and situated on the bank of Saraswati River makes it “Tourist Village of India”. Located at an altitude of 3200 meter and 3 kms from India’s Heaven Badrinath.

How To Reach

By Air- The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (320 kms). You can take bus or taxi to reach Mana.

By Train- The nearest railhead is Haridwar (275 kms). You can take bus or taxi to reach Mana.

By Road- The Mana is easily accessible through road as it is on NH-58.

Best Time to Visit

May to June is the peak season to visit Mana. You can also visit during July- September as the footfall is low during these days.

Climate

The temp. varies from 30 to 10 degree Centigrade in summer and 6 to 25 degree C in winter with snowfall.

Tourist Attractions in Mana

  1. Vyas Cave (Gufa)- Mahabharat was Composed Here

Vyas Cave is the ancient and very famous cave of Mana. It is believed that the Mahabharat epic was composed here by Maharishi Ved Vyas with the help of Lord Ganesha. Vyas cave is the attractive tourist spot for all touristers.

  1. Bheem Pul (Bridge)- Path of Heaven

The Bheem Pul is to be considered as made by Bheem, one of the five Pandava brothers of Mahabharat. During their journey to heaven the Bheem put the large rock in gorge to made this natural bridge. The beauty of this site is to behold. Click as many as you can, best location for photo shoot.

  1. Trek to the Vasudhara Falls

During your Visit to the Mana, trek to the Vasudhara Falls which is 6 kms from Mana. The only way to reach Vasudhara Falls is on foot and take upto two hours to reach here. It is believed that it is the temporary stay point of Pandavas during their exile.

  1. Muchkund Cave (Gufa)- Dedicated to Lord Krishna

Muchkund Gufa is 3 kms from Mana. It is believed that Muchkund Gufa is dedicated to Lord Krishna because Krishna stay in this cave when he pursue demon. It is open only on the day of Janmashthmi.
