Interview with Aamir Khatri “Wildlife Photographer”
Welcome once again to our Interview series, where we talk with travelers, photographers, bloggers, influencers, fashion designers and many more people all around the globe and share their ideas, journey’s and tips.
Today we have a discussion with Aamir Khatri who is passionate about wildlife photography. Aamir is a real life ‘Khatron ka khiladi’ who clicks dangerous wild animals such as lion, tiger etc. He is in touch with the nature when he was only ten years old. Moving to the Aamir, let’s have a quick discussion.

- Can you tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Aamir Khatri, basically I am from Jamnagar, Gujarat. I did my schooling from Saint Francis School, Jamnagar and after that I persuaded my BBA in 2014-17 from IBS (Indian Business School) In Hyderabad and then I finished my MBA from Alliance University, Bangalore in the year (2017-19).
- How did you get into photography?
Since I was 10 years of age I was taken to forests by my parents and slowly those visits became my obsession and at the age of 16 I got my first camera which was a sony point and shoot and that very moment was when I started clicking the nature around me clicking its beautiful flora and fauna. At that point of time each and every photo I saw on internet inspired me more and more.
- Which is your best photographic destination and why?
My favourite place is Masai Mara and the reason because it has huge vast plains which give ample of game viewing and opportunities to make images with endless sky and vast Mara Lands.
- What are the challenges you face when you photographs the wild animals?
There are lot of challenges you face in Wildlife Photography and the most difficult is that the there is nothing assured in wildlife. There were times when the cats like Tigers Lions didn’t show up and I went home empty handed without single pictures. That’s the most difficult time for any wildlife photographer. Keep trying and trying and you will hit the jackpot. In the beginning you need to learn about the animal behaviour and plan to shoot accordingly.
- Tell our readers about your camera and it’s accessories?
My favourite lens is the Canon 400mm f208 IS2 which I currently own it along with a full-frame body Canon EOS R5
- What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement was when my photographs got published in Animal Planet India and few of the other Magazines such as Wildlife India and Species in Focus.
- Do you need extra tuition, further studies or an internship in your photography journey?
No. am a self-taught Wildlife photographer who learned from experiences in the field with some basic knowledge about the camera.
